Breast Cancer

In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in this Rahm Report I want to share about the symptoms and risk factors of breast cancer and how Root can help the body prevent breast cancer.

The prevalence of breast cancer is increasing in the United States. The risk of developing breast cancer increases with age. About two out of three invasive breast cancers are diagnosed in women over the age of 55. In 2020, it is estimated that over 30,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women and the second leading cause of cancer death. The American Cancer Society estimates that about 1 in 8 women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. In 2020, an estimated 2,620 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 480 men will die from the disease. Although breast cancer is much more common in women, men are about three times more likely to die from breast cancer than women.

There are a variety of risk factors for developing breast cancer, including family history, older age, genetic factors, obesity, alcohol exposure, radiation exposure and exposure to heavy metals/toxins. I would like to take a closer look at heavy metal exposure. Heavy metals, through various pathogenic compounds, promote the progression of breast cancer and reduce its sensitivity to treatment. Some of these metals, such as cadmium and mercury, are known to be toxic to the human body. Others, such as copper and nickel, can disrupt hormone balance and still others, such as lead and aluminum, can damage DNA. A study published in the journal Breast Cancer Research and Treatment found that women with high levels of cadmium in their blood were more likely to develop breast cancer than women with lower levels of this metal. In another study, copper, cobalt, nickel, lead, mercury, tin and chromium(II) were found to stimulate the proliferation of estrogen-dependent breast cancer cells by increasing the transcription and expression of estrogen-regulated genes.

This is where Root's Clean Slate comes into play. Clean Slate is specifically designed to safely and effectively remove these heavy metals from the body. As Clean Slate passes through the body, it binds these heavy metals and other toxins, allowing for passive elimination from the body through the urine. This is thanks to nature's most powerful volcanic mineral in combination with other trace elements and a high dose of vitamin C. Vitamin C is also a very powerful heavy metal remover. One study found that a high dose of vitamin C given to rats accelerated the removal of lead from the body. I know that Clean Slate has changed my life (and I know that many of you who use it can attest to this as well), and I can walk around knowing that my system is ridding itself of these destructive toxins.

If you are wondering about the symptoms of breast cancer or have a family history of breast cancer, watch out for these symptoms and see your doctor immediately if you notice any of them: Swelling of all or part of the breast; skin dimpling; pain in the breast or nipples; retraction of the nipples; red, dry, scaly or thickened skin on the nipples or in the breast; discharge from the nipples; and swollen lymph nodes under the arm or near the collarbone.

This report is not meant to alarm, but to draw attention to a cancer that is becoming more common. We need to be diligent and smart and try to prevent certain age-related diseases and take care of our bodies... Always. Because if you can reduce your risk, why wouldn't you?

With light and love,

Dr. Christina Rahm
