Repeat the test

Due to seasonal variations in vitamin D uptake from sunlight, we recommend repeating the test every 120 days to monitor and adjust your vitamin D status.

Scientific studies show that a DBS test is as accurate as a venous blood sample for analyzing vitamin D status. All you need is 1 to 2 drops of blood from your fingertip on a Whatman® filter paper. How does the test work?

6. Check your levels again: Vitamin D intake from sunlight varies by region and season. Replenishing your stores with supplements can take 3 to 4 months. Repeat the test every four months to track your progress and maintain your optimal vitamin D level.

What we measure

Our test measures serum 25(OH)D levels, also known as calcidiol, in the blood, which reflects vitamin D status from food, supplements and sun exposure. The normal vitamin D range is measured in nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml) or nanomoles per liter (nmol/l). You can choose which unit you want your test results to be displayed in. The 25-hydroxyvitamin D test is ideal for checking vitamin D levels and determining whether they are optimal, too high or too low.
