General questions
Does the Arctic spring also filter PFAS and heavy metals?
The Arktisquelle filters with a molecular membrane, among other things. After pre-filtration (filter stage 1 & 2), this can remove all pollutants and flavorings from the water, such as PFAS, bacteria, viruses, germs, hormones, antibiotics, drug residues, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, heavy metals such as lead, copper, mercury, arsenic, sulfur, lime, radioactive substances, nitrate, etc., and almost all other pollutants that are larger than 0.0001 micrometers (for comparison: a human hair has a diameter of around 50 to 70 micrometers).
Are there any hidden follow-up costs?
No, all follow-up costs are transparently disclosed. The electricity and water costs per month amount to an average of just 2.34 euros. (Assumed electricity price: 0.33 euros/kWh, 6 liters of pure water + 1 glass of hot water daily).
What does the water from the Arctic spring taste like?
Arctic Spring drinkers agree: the water has a remarkably light and pleasant taste, without the usual inhibition to drink that occurs with other waters. Both children and pets seem to prefer the filtered water, which is due to the pleasant taste and purity of the water.
Question
Write a clear and concise answer to guide your customers.
What is the pH value of the water from the Arctic spring?
The water from the Arctic spring is pH-neutral on a molecular level. This means that the value is between 6.4 and 7.4 - which makes it particularly well tolerated and optimal for the body.
Note: Measuring the pH value of our water with a test strip can produce inaccurate results, as our water has a very low ion concentration. Professional, calibrated pH meters are required for precise measurements. These devices are specially designed to reliably determine the exact pH values in such pure water.
Does the Arctic spring need to be connected to a fixed water connection?
No, the Arctic spring has two water tanks, one external and one internal, each with a capacity of 3.5 liters. The Arctic spring is therefore mobile and flexible to use.
Does the Arctic spring filter out minerals as well as all pollutants?
Thorough filtration of all pollutants is not possible without also removing a certain amount of minerals. Minerals in drinking water are inorganic, i.e. the human body only absorbs them when its needs are not met in organic form from food. The primary function of water in the body is, among other things, to transport nutrients, supply cells and tissue as well as various detoxification and excretion processes. In order to perform these tasks optimally, water should be as pure as possible. As water must not be completely empty after perfect filtration, slight remineralization takes place in filter stage 4 of the Arctic spring. It is important that this serves the purpose of optimizing the pH value and not to add minerals to the body. Example: The daily requirement of potassium is about 4000 mg per day, whereas a bottle of mineral water contains about 0.5 - 18 mg per liter. So you would have to drink about 220 liters of water a day to cover your potassium requirement. A boiled potato, on the other hand, already contains 443 mg/100g of potassium. Suitability for baby food: Due to its purity and quality, filtered water is also suitable for preparing baby food, which offers parents additional convenience.

Technical questions about the Arctic spring
How many liters does the water tank of the Arctic spring hold?
The appliance has an external water tank (3.5 liters), which is filled with tap water, and an internal water tank (also 3.5 liters), which stores the filtered water.
Can I take water from the Arctic spring during water filtration?
Yes, if there is enough pure water in the internal tank, water can also be removed during filtration.
Will the Arctic spring fit in my kitchen/apartment?
Measuring 445x250x408mm, the appliance is compact and similar in size to a fully automatic coffee machine, which makes it easier to place in the kitchen. The cable length of the Arktisquelle power plug is 135 cm. It fits easily into almost any kitchen. A total height of approx. 80 cm is required to be able to lift out the water tank at the rear of the Arktisquelle without any problems. Thanks to its flexible installation, the Arctic source can also be easily placed on a side table or in another room.
How long do the Arktisquelle filter cartridges last?
Depending on the local water quality and the daily water requirement, a filter set lasts an average of around 2000 liters of water or 6 to 12 months. On average, the service life of the filter stages is as follows: Lifetime PP fiber filter (19.50 euros): 3 to 4 months; CI adsorption filter (24.50 euros): 6 to 8 months; RO high-tech molecular filter (79.50 euros): 12 to 14 months; CII flavor filter (27.50 euros): 6 to 8 months. The Arktisquelle makes it easy for you: the integrated filter indicator lights show you when it is recommended to change each filter stage. This gives you certainty about your water quality.
Question
Write a clear and concise answer to guide your customers.
Is it easy to change the filter?
Yes, the filter can be changed independently in less than 5 minutes and without external tools.
Can I set the water temperature as required?
The Arctic Spring can heat its water from 35 to 100 °C on request, ideal for making tea or coffee. The temperature can be set individually via the display, allowing for a wide range of hot drinks.
How does the hot water function work?
There are four temperature levels, each of which can be set individually. Mode 1: Room temperature: Water outlet at room temperature. Mode 2: Warm: Infinitely adjustable from 35-60 °C. Mode 3: Coffee/tea: Infinitely adjustable from 61-95 °C. Mode 4: Hot water: 100 °C. The heating coil only heats the amount of water that is actually needed. This massively reduces power consumption.
Why does reverse osmosis produce waste water?
The reverse osmosis process produces wastewater as a necessary part of the purification process. This process works by passing water under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane that allows pure water to pass through while retaining impurities. To effectively flush out these impurities and keep the membrane clean, some of the water is discharged as wastewater. Our system is characterized by a particularly efficient waste water ratio of 1:0.75 (pure water:waste water). Compared to many other reverse osmosis systems, which often have ratios of 1:3 to 1:4, this is significantly more water-efficient.
How does the Arctic Spring measure the TDS value and what does this mean for the water quality?
Our Arktisquelle water filter measures the TDS value (Total Dissolved Solids) directly after molecular filtration in the third filter stage. This provides a reliable indicator of the purity of the filtered water. The fourth filter stage then further improves the water quality by optimizing the pH value through slight remineralization. This remineralization is deliberately not taken into account in the TDS measurement in order to accurately measure the purity of the water before this step. Small differences may occur between the TDS value displayed on the device and a test in the glass, as the measurement specifically reflects the purity before remineralization.
